About the Author

Chang Sok Suh, MD, OMD, PhD, is a volunteer at the Willed Body Program at the UC Irvine College of Medicine and occasionally teaches acupuncture anatomy classes to licensed California acupuncturists. He received his Oriental Medical License at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, Korea. He was an acupuncture specialist in rheumatic and rheumatoid arthritis in the Clinic at Monira General Hospital in Cairo, Egypt. He also is the former personal physician for the royal family of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Suh has taught acupuncture and eastern medicine to students at various institutions throughout the years. He also was a researcher and instructor in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at UCI while acting as spokesperson for acupuncturists in the community. Dr. Suh has written or co-written academic journal articles on an extensive variety of topics in the field for more than 20 years.

This book is very well written. I got tips on how to care for my mom with Alzheimer's. I was very emotional reading it. My mom is described in this book through Coach Broyles experiences with his wife. I am so thankful that Coach Broyles put his experience in a book for others to know what their loved ones might expect. I am disappointed in the cost of the book. When you read the first 2 or 3 pages you will see that the book is available free of charge to anyone wanting information on how to care for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease. I am not asking for a refund. I am asking my cost of the book be donated to Alzheimer's Association.

Written by the former Arkansas football coach, this is a manual for caring for a loved one with Alzheimers, based on his experience with his wife. It is broken down into many pearls of very useful insight and advice. It truly helps you understand what is going on inside the head of an Alzheimers sufferer along with practical ideas on how to assist and comfort them.

I enjoyed the format of this informative book and especially Coach's sidebar notes. Granted, most of the info is basic and generally known. My only real issue with this book is the typeface used. At certain angles the print almost disappears, being so light, making it unnecessarily difficult to read.

If you have a loved one recently diagnosed with Dementia or Alzheimer's this is the perfect book for you. It breaks down what to expect and what to do in each stage. It's a quick short version that you can read in an hour or two. Very helpful book.

I wish I had read this book when I found out that my wife had Alzheimers. Coach Broyles speaks from personal experience dealing with a wife who had Alzheimers. He gives you good tips and strategies that he used and I have found very helpful. He writes this book in a way that any caregiver and relate to. It is not a book that is not written in Medical Technology. It is very easy to read and understand. Do yourself a favor and get this book if you have a love one who has Alzheimers Disease.

My wife purchased this book for herself, and then to give to her father to read. Her mother has dementia, and it will probably advance to the state of Alzheimers pretty soon. One would tend to think that a book like this would be written for elderly people, as well as their caregivers. Unfortunately, the main type font in the entire book is extremely hard to read -- the font is very, very thin, and printed in a very light color. Even with a full reading light on, it is difficult to make out the text. My wife has excellent vision, and she had trouble reading it. Giving it to her 88-year old father, whose eyesight is beginning to fade, was out of the question. Unfortunately, even though there may have been some very informative subjects covered, she chose to return it. That's too bad. Somebody in the publisher's design department really needs to step back and THINK about the product and to whom it is meant to reach.

This book is well written and easy to read. I liked the fact that it helps caregivers know what to expect in each stage of Alzheimer's and how to respond. Although this information is readily available on the Alzheimer's Association website, this book was enjoyable to read in the way Broyle's laid out the information...as he put it a play by play approach just as he would do in preparing for a game with an opposing team. I recommend this book for it's simplicity and easy to read style.

The Broyles playbook is very easy reading and gives a good description of Alzheimer patient behavior. He gives helpful advise on the do and don't of relating to a person with memory issues. I recommend this book to family members.
